The Wrap-up #12 - Cold War, Cold Mountains, and more
~ The greater their ignorance, the stronger their opinions.
Hello gang!
What’s crackin?
Here are 4 things I loved this month:
Books 📚
Edge of Eternity (Century Trilogy, #3) by Ken Follett. My 6th Follett book. The guy can create characters you care about. Add in how crazy history is… And you have an addictive book. This book follows the same 5 families. But now their 3rd generation. I've read about half of it so far, but I already think it's enough for a recommendation. Follett does a great job showing a big part of modern history through the characters—on different sides of the same conflicts. It makes you even more invested in what’s about to happen. It might also enrage some readers (since some people hate to be reminded how sh*tty humans were in the past and prefer to deny it)
Articles 📰
How I Unlock Insane Focus On Demand (The 4 Hour Framework) by Dan Koe. Dan Koe writes a lot about focus (he even wrote a book about it). He knows his stuff. And this article is no different. Treat your focus as the most important part of your day. There’s the more you divide your attention, the less focus you’ll have. Do this long enough and you’ll only be able to focus on 15-second videos. Of course… focus on the right things. Not something you’re passionate about. Something you’re obsessed about.
Movies 🎥
La sociedad de la nieve. This movie is about a plane crash in the Andes involving an entire rugby team and their family/friends. I didn’t know much about the accident before watching it. So I was shocked every time someone else died. When it finished, I was staring at my TV for 5 minutes trying to figure out what I had just watched. It’s not an easy story to tell or watch. Not just another survival tale. It’s about 40 people leaving an airport, and only 16 coming back. And about what humans are willing to do to stay alive. Highly recommended. You won’t be bored.
TV Shows 📺
Alpha Males, Season 2 (Spanish). This Netflix TV show follows 4 friends, Pedro, Luis, Raúl, and Santi, trying to adapt to a new, more equal world. Season 1 was good. But season 2 is even better. Keep in mind this is a comedy based on real life. Not real life itself. To enjoy it, you should watch with an open mind. I laughed too much watching this. And I hope you do too!
A quote for you 💭
